An Arizona man will need to hire auto accident attorneys after police arrested him on Wednesday, April 1st. Andy Monticello, 54, started the chain of events that led to his arrest on Tuesday, March 31st.
According to the police report, the Oakley Police Department at about 1:35 p.m. tried to get Monticello to stop driving erratically. The man failed to stop, and the police gave chase. They called it off after it seemed that continuing would endanger public safety.

Soon afterward, the Brentwood Police Department got a report of Monticello driving on the walking trails and nearly colliding with pedestrians. The police also got a statement that the man was running red lights, and trying to force other road users off the road.
Monticello was sighted on Highway 4 bypass near Sand Creek Road, as well as Balfour Road. Before the BPD could get to him, the driver was intercepted by the Antioch Police Department.
The APD caught up with the man after he allegedly pulled into oncoming traffic. The latter was in front of an Antioch police sergeant heading south on Deer Valley Road. The sergeant, whose name was not given, tried to avoid Monticello by moving into another lane.
The maneuver failed as the man mirrored the movement of the officer, and they collided. The sergeant immobilized Monticello’s vehicle, and the APD took him into custody without any more incidents.
The police booked the driver into the Martinez Detention Facility. They found out that Monticello has an outstanding felony warrant. He remains in custody at the time of this report.
