An 22-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash that took place on Wednesday, March 4. The incident took place on the Illinois Route 100 on Wednesday night.
According to the police, the authorities were notified of the crash at around 11:00 p.m. Details gathered by the police revealed that a car was traveling westbound on Route 100 when the driver seems to have lost control of it. Only two miles from Grafton, the vehicle drove off the roadway. It then collided with a river bluff and overturned several times before coming to rest.

Three individuals were traveling in the car at the time. These have been identified as Alexander D. Radcliffe, 18, of Bethalto, Allison A. Watson, 22, also of Bethalto, and Tristan Z. Terpening, 20, of Godfrey. Allison A. Watson sustained the most critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The other two passengers sustained serious injuries. Both Terpening and Radcliffe were reported to have been seriously injured in the crash. The two were rushed to a local hospital where they remain under treatment. At this point, it is not clear if they have recovered or if their condition remains critical.
The accident continues to be investigated by the authorities. For now, the police are trying to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash as all the three occupants were ejected when the car rolled over several times. Speed and alcohol, the most common causes of single-vehicle crashes, have not been ruled out so far.
