The other vehicle was identified as a Jeep Loredo. Kelley Ball, 45, of Modesto was driving the other vehicle. Ball had run a red light at the Plaza Parkway and collided into the side of the Altima. Yarely Jasso-Gomez sustained critical injuries in the incident. Once the first responders arrived, she was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident.

Yarely’s brother and father sustained serious injuries while her mother also incurred some minor injuries. The brother was airlifted to a local hospital. Yarely’s parents were transported to the hospital via ambulance.

Ball left the scene of the incident and was later apprehended by the authorities at a nearby location. She was found intoxicated which led the authorities to press a number of charges against her. These include felony hit and run, murder, felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Further accident reports will reveal the penalties and prison time Ball faces as a result of the incident.
