He lost control of his sedan for unknown reasons, veering into oncoming traffic. As a result, the sedan smashed into a flatbed truck that was traveling westbound. A semi, also westbound, crashed into the sedan.

The California Highway Patrol stated that Mackenzie, who was the only occupant of the sedan, died at the scene of the crash. The other drivers involved in the collision didn’t sustain any injuries.

After the accident happened, police officers closed both lanes of the road to traffic. They did this so that investigators could finish up with their findings. Around 1:15 PM, the officers reopened the road. No additional information about the crash is available, though investigations remain ongoing.

Motorists must avoid speeding when driving because it can lead to terrible accidents, causing injuries and death. Many roads have their stipulated speed limits. Drivers must never move beyond those limits.

Patrol officers are always on the lookout for drivers who go against traffic rules and drive above speed limits. Accident reports show that defaulting motorists, when apprehended, always face severe punishments according to the rule of law.
