After searching the area, they located the critically injured body of 40-year-old Brandon Rank. Rank was found 100 feet away from the bicycle.

Emergency personnel rushed him from the scene and to a local hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition from the accident.

Rank’s family was notified of the accident while he was being taken to the hospital.

The police do not have the name of the driver who hit Rank, but has a general description of the vehicle. Witnesses said that the car was a 2011 to 2014 dark gray Dodge Avenger. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after striking the bicycle.

The Avenger may have front quarter panel damage due to striking Rank and his bicycle. The police are asking that everyone be on the lookout for a vehicle that is fitting this description.

The Waco Police Department is asking that if you have information regarding the accident or the vehicle to call 254-750-7500 or Detective Clark directly at 254-750-3662.
