A 4-alarm fire in South Boston displaced 7 occupants and injured 2 firefighters on Wednesday.
One of the basement units at 409 East 7th St. was empty at the time, undergoing renovations. An investigation is still in progress to determine the cause of the fire.

The 2 firefighters injured were taken to a local hospital and treated for heat exhaustion, and a laceration.
This was the largest fire the Boston Fire Department has seen so far this year.
None of the residents were injured. They are working with the Red Cross to place the family in a new living situation and provide for the family.
