Officials, on Tuesday, May 26, identified the victims of two separate collisions on Texas 71, Bastrop County. Accident reports state that the victims’ names are Eulisses Martinez Zavala, 20, Ramero Arenas Aguila, 60, Miguel Diaz, 45, and Wanda Evans, 70.
While Zavala, Ramero, and Diaz died in a crash that happened on Sunday, May 17, Wanda Evans died in a separate accident that occurred on Tuesday, May 19.

Official reports of the first incident revealed that Zavala was on the wheels of a 2001 Honda around 1:40 p.m. He was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Texas 71 when he had a head-on collision with a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The crash occurred close to the Blue Flame intersection.
Zavala died at the scene, while the two other passengers with him in the Honda suffered severe injuries. Medics flew them on a helicopter to a hospital where they received treatment. The occupants of the Corolla, Ramero, and Diaz also died at the crash scene.
Forty-eight hours after the crash, another collision happened very close to the intersection of Texas 71 and Tucker Hill. It involved Wanda Evans, driving a 2006 Chevrolet car and another vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet SUV with an unidentified driver.
Evans was traveling west on Texas 71, while the SUV was ahead of her. She was driving at excessive speed and failed to control her speed when the SUV stopped for a red light at Tucker Hill Lane.
According to accident reports, Evans struck the rear of the SUV and died at the scene of the crash. There is no information about the other driver.
