SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle travelling the wrong way on northbound I-5 caused a head-on accident that sent two people to the hospital on Monday evening, ABC 10 San Diego reports.
The accident occurred near State Route 163 around 11:45 p.m. on Monday. A silver SUV was driving south in the northbound lanes when it struck a white SUV head-on. After the initial accident a red pickup truck was also hit.

The drivers of both SUVs were hospitalized. Details about their conditions are not available. No other injuries have been reported.
Police are investigating to determine if alcohol was involved.
