LOS ANGELES, CA – Nearly 40 firefighters were dispatched to a deadly apartment fire near Santa Monica Boulevard early Thursday morning.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the fire was reported around 2 a.m. within the 1700 block of Kelton Avenue just north of Santa Monica Boulevard.

37 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze in under 28 minutes. Upon further investigation, two individuals were found inside the apartment. One of them was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. An arson unit was called to the scene as protocol.
