LAKE ELSINORE, CA – Authorities say a third person has passed from injuries sustained in the previously reported residential fire in Lake Elsinore on Jan. 25.
The fire was initially reported at a single-family home on the 32900 block of Blackwell Boulevard around 2:45 p.m. Firefighters responded and found flames billowing from the garage, which spread to multiple rooms before crews could contain the fire.

After putting out the fire, a 2-year-old boy and 1-year-old girl were found deceased in the garage. Three others were hospitalized including a great-grandmother, her granddaughter, and a baby great-grandchild.
According to an update from The Press Enterprise, the great-grandmother of the two young children, Phyllis “Baba” Fisher, succumbed to her injuries on Jan. 28. Stephanie Heer, a family friend, said she had suffered burns that covered over 90% of her body.
Three others are still recovering from their injuries. This includes Fisher’s granddaughter who suffered burns covering 30% of her body, a baby great-grandchild who suffered burns covering 20% of their body, and a third person who received medical care at the scene.
Officials have not provided a cause for the fire.
