For reasons under investigation, the GMC truck drove over the double yellow lines into the west lanes of travel and collided with the Ford. The impact caused injuries to both drivers, who were the only occupants of their respective vehicles.
An ambulance transported Chico to the Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, where he eventually died while receiving treatment. The second driver also received transportation to a hospital in critical condition.
The La Grange Police Department, the Illinois State Police, and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash. They urged witnesses with helpful information to contact the La Grange Police Department. Post-mortem examination reports from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the victim’s cause and manner of death.
Most car accidents in the state of Illinois occur due to over speeding, driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, distracted driving, or impatience. These accidents result in serious injury, death, or both, leaving the victims or their families in devastating situations.
Involving a car accident lawyer to help seek recompense, or bring the responsible party to book can remarkably offer the victim some level of consolation.
