An accident report from Cooper Township in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, tells the story of a man who died in a two-vehicle collision. Kelly C. Brooks, 57, passed away on Tuesday, April 28th, after the car he was traveling in collided with another.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said that the accident that claimed the victim’s life left four people injured. The crash took place at about 7:40 p.m. on West C Avenue. Deputies reported that a minivan was going east on the avenue near North 14th Street when the driver tried to make a left turn.

The unnamed driver was attempting to enter a driveway but ended up colliding with a westbound passenger car that was going at top speed. Three people in the minivan were trapped and had to wait for first responders to arrive and extricate them.
The authorities successfully pulled the trio out, including Brooks, who sat in the front passenger seat. The medics transported them to an undisclosed hospital where the man died while receiving treatment. There is no update on the condition of the other two at the time of this report.
Two other unidentified passengers sustained severe wounds, and the medics also took them to the hospital. The minivan’s driver sustained minor injuries and refused treatment. The accident report did not mention what happened to the passenger car and the occupant (s).
The police said that over speeding is the primary cause of the collision. They are still investigating and will provide an update at a later date.
