The Sentra was sitting, waiting to turn onto Georgia Highway 362 when the accident happened.
Deputies identified the driver of the Sentra as Traci Durham from Hollinville. Emergency services declared her deceased at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was identified as Jennyvelisse Womack. She was accompanied in the truck by her husband and her son. All three were transported by emergency services to Spalding Regional Hospital for treatment of the injuries they sustained in the accident.
The Investigators for the Pike County Sheriff’s Office are currently working to determine what caused the accident.
Based on map images, there are no lights at the intersection for Georgia Highway 362 and Williamson-Zebulon Road. The reports do not indicate what road that Durham was trying to turn onto Georgia Highway 362 from, but given the geographical layout of the area, she must have been sitting at the stop sign for Williamson-Zebulon Road and Georgia Highway 362.
It is plausible that the GMC lost control or cut the turn too sharp and hit the Sentra. Once the investigators have more information, updates will be released regarding the accident. There has been no update on the injuries sustained by Womack or her passengers.
