Preliminary investigations showed the fatal victims were traveling in a vehicle southbound on North Hampton Road, with 47-year-old Ernesto Deleon behind the wheels. At the same time, another car, driven by a 23-year-old man, was heading west on Singleton.
The westbound vehicle reportedly failed to stop for a red light, and entered the intersection out of turn, just as Deleon’s vehicle was moving through. Both cars collided at the intersection, causing severe damages.
Ernesto Deleon suffered fatal injuries in the dire encounter, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Two teenagers traveling in the backseat of the struck car also died from the impact. Authorities identified them as 19-year-old Leslie Deleon and 18-year-old Ashley Deleon. A 42-year-old woman, riding in the right front passenger seat, survived the crash with major injuries.
First responders transported the critically wounded woman, and another victim, a 16-year-old male passenger involved, to a hospital for treatment. The teenage male received treatment for minor injuries.
Police said the motorist who ran a red light was driving while intoxicated, as confirmed by hospital staff. They detained him on three felony counts of intoxication manslaughter, and one count of intoxication assault.
A top accident lawyer can help the victims’ relatives pursue a wrongful death lawsuit, and secure maximum compensation for damages while bringing the culprit to book.
