A man who had an accident in Lafayette, California, would require a drunk driving attorney following his identification. On Wednesday, April 8th, the authorities identified the man as Suallah Hatari Lloyd, 30, of Oakland.
The California Highway Patrol said that Lloyd was injured in an accident that occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6th. The man was driving a Honda sedan on Highway 24 near the Acalanes Road exit when he crashed into a Contra Costa fire truck.

The CHP said that Lloyd was going above the speed limit. The fire truck he crashed into was at the scene of an earlier accident. The man was severely injured, and medics took him to a hospital for treatment.
The CHP suspected that Lloyd was impaired at the crash, and they arrested him on suspicion of DUI. There is currently no information on the man’s bond, or when he would get arraigned. The investigation is still active.
A drunk driver under California law is a person who has more than the legal blood alcohol concentration when driving. The BAC limit is .08%, and anyone at that level or above is considered impaired. Drunk driving is ordinarily a traffic offense settled with a fine and (or) suspension of driver’s license.
However, when an accident occurs, and there’s death or bodily harm, it becomes a criminal offense. At this point, a driver would have to hire a drunk driving attorney for advice and representation.
