An accident occurred on the 8900 block of Skokie Boulevard on Wednesday, March 18. Police were called to the scene of the accident around 3:50 a.m. when they received a call regarding a single-car accident.
The Skokie Police arrived at the scene to find a single-vehicle rollover crash. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews took 16-year-old Matthew Williams to Evanston Hospital. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Williams was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
His body was sent for autopsy following the accident. It was not made known in the report if the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The male driver and another male passenger refused transport after the accident. The extent of their injuries were not released, nor were their names. The report did not indicate if they sought out medical attention on their own.
It is unclear at this time what caused the accident. The autopsy results did find that Williams died from injuries he sustained in the car accident. The specifics of Williams’ injuries have not been made public. His death is being ruled accidental.
