Officers responded to an emergency call in Forest Park regarding an accident that ended up killing a woman, who has now been identified as 62-year-old Beverly Harrison from Louisiana.
When police got to the scene, they identified three vehicles involved in the accident, and one of them was on fire. The car that was on fire was determined to belong to Harrison.

Based on the preliminary report, Harrison was driving south on Des Plaines when another vehicle that was going north hit another vehicle at a high rate of speed. The driver then lost control and slammed into Harrison’s car.
The officers at the scene were able to extinguish the flames coming from Harrison’s car. Other motorists assisted the police in getting Harrison out of the vehicle. She was then transported from the scene of the accident to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. It was there that she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The driver of the northbound vehicle’s name has not been released publically. The driver was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Their injuries were classified as non-life threatening.
There was no information available about the driver of the second vehicle that was hit before Harrison’s car catching on fire. It is unclear if they were injured in the accident or not.
The police are still investigating the accident. Although no positive confirmation has been made, they do believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
