SAN DIEGO, CA – A 27-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car while riding a skateboard in Ocean Beach Tuesday morning, the Times of San Diego reports.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Nimitz Boulevard and West Point Loma Boulevard around 7:45 a.m.

The skateboard rider was traveling north on Nimitz when he attempted to turn left against a red light and was struck by a 63-year-old man driving a Subaru sedan. The skateboarder was thrown into the Subaru’s windshield and hit the ground.
Bystanders provided first aid to the victim, who was later transported to UC San Diego Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
