The update to a car accident report on Monday, May 18th, disclosed that the authorities identified the two women who died in Riverside, California. The victims are Sharlene Ayala, 19, and Patricia Romero, 63, both residents of the city.
The authorities in Riverside said the women passed away on Friday, May 15th, after a head-on collision on Central Avenue near Montclair Drive. Sgt. Ryan Wilson, with the police department, said that a 28-year-old male driver of a new model Jeep started the events that led to the fatal crash.

At about 12:30 p.m., the SUV was going west on Central when it drifted into the opposite traffic lane. The act put the vehicle directly in the path of a Toyota Corolla driven by Ayala. Wilson said that both cars collided and killed the young woman instantly.
The medics took Romero to Riverside Community Hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds while undergoing treatment about an hour later. The unnamed driver of the Jeep had minor injuries, and the authorities let him go afterward.
Wilson said that the investigation is ongoing, and they will release an update at a later time. Anyone with helpful information should contact the police department’s traffic bureau.
Reports of car accidents show that head-on collisions occur mostly at intersections, with drivers running red lights, disobeying stop signs, and failing to yield. Other causes of this kind of accident are illegal lane changes, wrong-way driving, distracted driving, and over speeding.
