Walker was riding a 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 north on Pomerado Road when a Chrysler PT Cruiser heading south made a left turn onto Caminito Vecinos. The act caused the vehicle to hit the motorcycle, and the impact sent the rider crashing onto the roadway.
The teenager sustained severe wounds but lived long enough to make it to the hospital. Walker remained there until he passed away on Saturday, May 2nd. The report by the CHP did not state the condition of the driver of the Chrysler or his or her identity.
The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is taking point on the investigation into the accident. There is no additional information at this time.
The state of California has over 800 000 registered motorcycle riders, and also a high rate of auto-motorcycle crashes. Often, when an accident occurs, the motorcyclist is usually at fault. But at other times, the liability lies at the feet of a motorist.
When it’s the latter, the victim or his or her representative can sue for compensation using a motorcycle attorney, who would also provide legal advice.
