A serious car accident involving multiple vehicles closed Loop 202 in Phoenix’s East Valley Thursday, February 20th. The accident took place on Power Road at about 9:30 am. Following the accident, the road was closed to traffic so that police could collect evidence, examine the scene of the accident, and clear the debris from the road.
They did this very quickly and the road was reopened for traffic less than an hour after the accident took place. During the hour after the accident, traffic was rerouted to U.S. 60 and the Red Mountain Freeway.

Right now, the exact cause of the accident is not known. The full extent of the injuries of the victims and how many victims there were is also not known. All that is known is that multiple vehicles were involved in the accident, and emergency medical workers responded to the scene. It is not clear whether or not anyone was taken to the hospital.
