BAKERSFIELD, CA – According to FOX 26, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision with injuries on State Route 58 last Wednesday afternoon.
The preliminary report stated the crash occurred near the SR-58 interchange with Union Avenue around 1 p.m., when a semi-truck attempted to merge onto the freeway. The driver was traveling at a high speed and swerved to avoid traffic, causing his truck to sideswipe a second semi.

This forced the second semi-truck to rear-end a car hauler.
The semi-truck driver that attempted the merge sustained serious injuries in the crash. No updates on their condition have been provided.
