The accident that began the suspect’s tale of woes occurred on the evening of December 28th, 2018. The crash report at the time showed that the-then 21-year-old Hale was working as a waitress in Santa Maria Brewing Company in Paso Robles. On the day of the accident, the woman entered her car drunk, and her friends attempted to stop her from driving.
Among those who intervened is Montes Guillen. The police said the man entered the car with the suspect, but she knocked him out of the vehicle. The act left the victim with severe wounds that later claimed his life at an undisclosed hospital.
The investigators located Hale at her home and initially arrested her for driving under the influence causing injury, driving with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 and felony hit-and-run. Court documents showed that the suspect had a .17 BAC at the time of the crash.
The prosecutors later brought a vehicular manslaughter charge against the young woman, and she didn’t contest the charges in exchange for a reduced sentence. There is no additional information.
