MacCarty had been driving her Hyundai SUV along Knox Avenue, taking her passenger home, when she swerved and struck a fence. Police have not determined what caused her to swerve.
After striking the fence, she struck a Toyota 4-runner that was in a driveway. The last vehicle she struck was an occupied Toyota Tundra. The occupant of the truck was waiting to pick his child up from a piano lesson at the time of the collision.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered all three of the wrecked vehicles, with one of them up against a garage.
After being pointed out, the police approached MacCarty who explained she was just taking her passenger home and they were coming from a local bar.
Upon investigating, they tested her blood-alcohol level and discovered it was a concentration of .16%. This is twice the legal limit in California.
MacCarty is currently at the El Dorado County Jail where she is being charged with a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. Her bail has been set at $7,500.
There seem to have been no injuries in the accident.
The police are still investigating the accident.
