Kaye was piloting an experimental Aeropro A220 aircraft from Indiana to Massachusetts when his plane went down without warning. No signals of any kind were sent out from Kaye’s craft before the crash. It is unknown at this time if there was a mechanical or system failure causing the lack of communication or distress signals.
The small plane was shredded to pieces when authorities arrived at the crash site.
The Aeropro 220’s are small, 2 seater tail-dragger aircraft. The company who makes them only has approximately 500 aircraft distributed globally since the company opened in 1990.
Authorities are still trying to make contact with any witnesses that may have seen the accident.
