The sedan drove directly into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, which slammed right into the passenger side of the vehicle. Acoff was a passenger in the car with two other people. The trio sustained severe injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
The other two, who the police haven’t identified are an adult and a minor. Two unnamed people in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries, and the identity of the drivers or their condition was not listed by the authorities.
The CHP is investigating to determine if drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both played a role in the accident. The inquiry is ongoing, and the public will get updated as things unfold.
Under California law, once the authorities determine liability, then the victim or victims can bring a civil lawsuit in addition to the criminal charges the offender would face. Both parties would need to hire a car injury lawyer for legal advice and representation.
