One of the most common causes of traffic accidents occurs when a driver is making a left hand turn. In most cases the driver is at fault but not in all cases. The law in most states say that the driver making the turn must yield to oncoming traffic. Oncoming traffic includes motorcycles. Many times the driver making the turn misjudges the distance of the on coming traffic and this creates the accident. Another common occurrence is when a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle making the left hand turn. The driver may be watching the oncoming traffic so intently that he is not watching for pedestrians.
