One of the residents in the mobile home park was able to extinguish the car before the police arrived at the scene. Several other witnesses spoke of seeing the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed just before the accident occurred.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Austin Imboden of Round Rock. Police found several cans of alcoholic beverages inside of Imboden’s car. They were unable to confirm if he was driving under the influence at the time of the accident.
Imboden was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Blood samples were taken, and the results are pending. This will help determine if he was under the influence at the time of the accident.
The police are considering this accident an ongoing investigation. There were no other passengers in the car with Imboden at the time of the accident, and it is also not clear what he was doing in the area of the motor home park at the time of the accident.
Depending on the results of the blood samples, the police may determine that alcohol was not the only factor in the accident.
