The crash claimed the man’s life at the scene, and two male passengers in the Mitsubishi aged 30 and 36 sustained severe and minor injuries, respectively. The bus driver suffered minor wounds, but the two passengers in the vehicle were uninjured.
The fatal collision is the 25th the city of San Jose has registered this year. Motor vehicle accidents are not uncommon in California cities, and they are one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Several factors cause traffic collisions, and they cover both human-made errors and other contributing influences.
They include speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or (and) drugs, reckless driving, running red lights or stop signs, and distracted driving. It takes a distracted driver about three seconds to crash; thus, drivers must always pay attention to the road they are traveling on and avoid distractions.
