BAKERSFIELD, CA – A 17-year-old was killed in a single vehicle crash on westbound 178 on Sunday, KGET reports.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle attempting to exit the highway onto Beale Avenue around 9:45 p.m. when the driver swerved to avoid an object in the road.

The driver then lost control of his vehicle and hit a nearby curb. The 17-year-old passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected as the car flipped over.
He was transported to Kern Medical where he died from his injuries.
The 22-year-old driver was not seriously hurt in the accident.
