An accident report update from Blythe, Riverside County, California, revealed the identity of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office on Saturday, May 2nd, revealed the name of the victim as Roberto Velasquez, 58.
The authorities said that the man died in an accident that happened on Interstate 10 at about 8:08 p.m. on Friday, May 1st. It took place precisely on the westbound side of the freeway, about half a mile west of Neighbors Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eyewitness said that Velasquez was driving at high speed before he drove off the side of the freeway. The act caused him to land 15-feet off the roadway, leading to severe wounds that ultimately claimed his life.
The medics pronounced Velasquez dead at the scene and took his body to the coroner for identification. The CHP did not state if anyone else was in the vehicle; there is no additional information at this time.
