The investigators said that their preliminary inquiry revealed that a 2005 to 2010 Honda sedan heading north on Main Street struck the man as he crossed. LAPD Detective Jose De Leon of Central Traffic Division noted that almost immediately after, another vehicle heading south on the same roadway, hit the deceased.
The police do not have the description of the second vehicle, and the driver and the Honda motorist fled the scene without stopping to render help. Hernandez sustained fatal injuries, and the medics pronounced him dead.
The LAPD, using the standing $50 000 rewards established by the Los Angeles City Council in 2015, has asked anyone with information to come forward. The prize is for those whose tips help law enforcement agencies solve fatal hit-and-run cases.
Anyone with information should primarily contact the Central Traffic Division Commander or De Leon on their department’s listed line. The accident report directed tipsters who wish to remain anonymous to get in touch with the LA division of Crime Stoppers.
