Two people injured in a traffic collision in the Mammoth Lakes area of California have been identified. Updated accident report released on Tuesday, July 28th, named Richard Scott Holcomb, and Lora Holcomb as the victims.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two traveled in an SUV involved in the Saturday, July 25th, collision at about 8:55 p.m. The investigators placed Richard behind the wheel of a white 2016 Kia Sorento heading east in a curved portion of Benton Crossing Road.

At the same time, a silver 2017 Toyota Tacoma was westbound on the same roadway at an approximate speed of 55 and 60 miles per hour, west of Pit Road. The CHP said that the vehicle made a series of turning movements, spun out of control, and rotated in a counterclockwise direction across both lanes.
The Toyota then crossed in the eastbound lane and collided with the Kia. Richards and Lora suffered severe injuries, and a juvenile in their vehicle sustained moderate wounds. The medics conveyed the trio to Mammoth Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyota and a male passenger in the car sustained significant injuries, while a female passenger died from her injuries. The investigation into the cause of the accident remains under investigation, and there’s no additional information at this time.
