The police in Cobb County, Georgia, on Tuesday, May 19th, released the details of a DUI crash involving a female driver and a pedestrian. According to a press release, Mitzi Natalia Diaz of Smyrna is facing several counts of DUI amid other charges and would need a drunk driving attorney.
The police said that the woman is responsible for an accident, which took place last Thursday, May 14th, near County Services Parkway and Valor Drive. At the time, Diaz was driving a Chevrolet Malibu with a Modelo beer sitting open in her cup holder.

The woman had a 24-pack of the beer brand as well as 23 empty bottles inside the vehicle. Her arrest warrant also disclosed that there was a 12-pack Corona with three empty bottles. The document accused Diaz of hitting an unnamed pedestrian, and leaving the person with broken bones while she fled the scene.
The police added that she drove her car for about a quarter-mile before stopping in the middle of the roadway. They located the suspect soon after, and officers said that she admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day, and having two beers.
The investigators disclosed that she refused to let them search her vehicle, leading to an obstruction charge. Additionally, Diaz is charged with an open container, serious injury by vehicle, hit-and-run, and driving without insurance, hence the need for a drunk driving attorney’s service.
There is no record of the jail the police booked her into, making her custody status unclear. They will release an update once they have more information.
