Police said Browning at about 10 a.m. Monday was pulled over by Marietta, Ohio, authorities on Seventh Street. An investigator reportedly observed drug paraphernalia inside Browning’s vehicle, but Browning drover off before an arrest could be made.
The pursuit continued into West Virgina, authorities reported, continuing on a state highway into Boaz. Browning ultimately crashed his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before he could be detained by law enforcement officials.
No injuries were reported as a result of the wreck.
However, Browning was apprehended after a short foot chase, police said. Browning’s passenger, who was wanted on a warrant for an unrelated charge in Kanawha County, also was taken into custody.
Browning reportedly agreed to be extradited to Washington County, Ohio, to face a felony fleeing charge. However, investigators said he also will face charges in West Virginia in connection to the pursuit and subsequent crash.
