The driver who sent a motorcyclist to the hospital after striking him in an auto-motorcycle crash in Fairfield, California, would need a drunk driving attorney’s expertise. The Fairfield Police Department took Joshua Acup, 32, into custody for being intoxicated at the time of the Wednesday, May 13th, accident.
According to Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen, the Citrus Heights resident was driving an SUV at about 4:40 p.m. when he collided with the motorcyclist. Acup, for unknown reasons, crossed the double yellow lines of the roadway near the intersection of Waterman Boulevard and Edmonton Drive.

The act put the driver directly in the path of the unidentified motorcycle rider, causing the collision. The biker sustained unspecified wounds, and the medics conveyed the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The police said the doctors believe the motorcyclist would survive.
Acup, on the other hand, was unscathed, and the investigators determined he was under the influence at the time of the crash. They booked him into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of driving the wrong way causing bodily injury and DUI, causing bodily injury or death; his bond is set at $50 000.
The near-fatal collision led to the closure of Waterman, precisely between Vista Grande and Oliver Road, for more than three hours. The police reopened the roadway after it concluded its preliminary investigation and cleared debris from the road.
Under California law, the victim can bring a personal injury lawsuit against the suspect with the help of a drunk driving attorney to recover damages.
