The descent led the young lady into a heavily wooded area, and the Toyota went through a chain-link fence onto Dublin Canyon Road. Thomason bounced off a power pole before coming to a rest against the cable supporting the power pole.
The CHP said they are unsure which lane the deceased was driving on, and how fast or slow she was going when she crashed. The medics at the scene took Thomason to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she died from her injuries.
There is no additional information at this time. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing, and the public will receive an update when the police have more information.
Single-vehicle accidents are caused by a plethora of reasons that either lie at or away from the driver’s feet. Most of them end in fatal crashes, and traffic officials advise that the only way to prevent them is for drivers to obey the rules of the road and drive safely.
Drivers should also try to report car accidents on time to enable first responders to get to the scene timeously. The latter would save more lives and reduce the traffic accident fatality rate.
