Pedro Matias-Perez would need a drunk driving attorney after the San Diego, California, police arrested him for driving under the influence and hit-and-run. The police took him into custody on Thursday evening, April 2nd.
Hours before his arrest, Matias-Perez, while driving his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, struck a light pole that toppled over and landed on a 68-year-old woman. The police said that the man was traveling north in the 4800-block of Genesee Avenue, south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

At Clairemont, Matias-Perez, for unknown reasons, veered left and struck the center median. He corrected to the right, and the move made him roll over and hit the light pole.
Officer Robert Heims of the SDPD said that the pole separated at its base, and struck the unnamed woman who was walking on the sidewalk. The pole then rested on the roof of a residence close to the intersection of Genesee and Sauk avenues.
The pedestrian had a deep cut to the back of her head and abrasions to her left arm. Medics took her to the hospital where she received treatment. Matias-Perez fled the scene with a 25-year-old passenger in his vehicle.
The skin of the right arm of the passenger tore off from the wrist to the elbow. The passenger was taken to the hospital and is still alive at the time of this report. Matias-Perez was arrested by the SDPD and booked on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
People who cause an accident while under the influence require a drunk driving attorney to represent their interest during trial.
