HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – One man was killed after being struck by an SUV along a busy Huntington Beach road Monday evening.
According to the OC Register, the incident occurred at about 6:12 p.m. when the pedestrian was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Beach Boulevard and was hit by a white Mitsubishi Outlander.

The man was taken to UCI Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. He is known to police as a transient in the area. Investigators believe he was walking outside of the designated crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The driver of the SUV, a 59-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
