ENCINITAS, CA – A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital, and a driver arrested following a hit-and-run collision in Encinitas late Tuesday morning.
According to KGTV, the accident was reported at about 11 a.m. near the intersection with Vulcan Avenue and D Street.

Police say the unidentified driver attempted to flee the scene but was caught a short time later. Drugs or alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
The unidentified pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
