The life of a 67-year-old Byron woman came to an end after she crashed her car against a semi-tractor trailer on M-71 in the Shiawassee County of Michigan. The accident occurred a little past noon on Tuesday, May 26th, and the Michigan State Police revealed her name in the accident report as Paula Wooden.
The woman before her death was driving a 2001 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck on M-71, in the area near Reed Road in Vernon Township. The investigators said that for elusive reasons, Wooden left her lane, and drove across the center line, directly in front of oncoming traffic.

The act caused the deceased to collide head-on with an oncoming semi-tractor trailer driven by a 38-year-old male resident of Clio. The collision ended Wooden’s life, but the report did not specify if she succumbed to her wounds at the scene or a medical center.
The trailer driver went unscathed, and he does not appear to have any liability in the crash. The MSP closed the accident scene at Bennington Road and reopened it around 3:30 p.m. after concluding its preliminary inquiry and clearing the debris from the roadway.
The investigation into the tragic accident remains ongoing, and the police are focusing on the reason Wooden crossed from her lane to her death. The investigators ordered an autopsy, and they will update the public once they have the results.
Motor vehicle accidents claim lives daily in Michigan. To reduce the death rate, law enforcement, and traffic officials advise drivers and witnesses to make an accident report on time to give injured victims a chance of survival.
