The vehicle overturned several times down an embankment and rested in the northern ditch. The driver, and his passengers, Jahmere Gordon, 18, Ryan Cardwell, 20, and Linnie Caradine, 18, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at an area hospital.
The ISP cited Suber for improper lane usage, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failure to wear a seatbelt. Cardwell and Caradine also received citations for not wearing a seatbelt.
Motor vehicle collisions happen for numerous reasons, and while it sometimes ends fatally, a lot of people survive with injuries. One key factor that increases a person’s chance of surviving an accident is the use of a seat belt.
The strap if properly fastened, keeps car occupants in place when a crash happens and prevents ejection. Also, a seat belt works with the airbag to prevent head injuries by restraining the body from pushing forward and connecting with the steering wheel.
