BONITA, CA – Two people were injured on Saturday after an SUV crashed on State Route 125 in Bonita, according to local news reports.
The accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. in the area east of San Miguel Road. A man driving a SUV lost control and left the highway. His vehicle traveled 40 feet up the shoulder before rolling back onto the highway and settling in the number 2 lane.

Witnesses helped free the man and his female passenger from the vehicle. She suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. The driver was also taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The cause of the crash has not been reported. Police found marijuana in the car but have not indicated if they believe drugs played a role in the crash.
