PALM DESERT, CA – News Channel 3 reports that one motorist was hospitalized after a SunBus vs. SUV collision on SR-111 in Palm Desert on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at the intersection with San Marcos Avenue around 12:52 p.m.

A surveillance video from the nearby Bill’s Pizza restaurant showed that the SUV was attempting to turn westbound onto SR-111 from southbound San Marco Ave. After pulling into the roadway, a SunBus side-swiped the SUV, forcing it to slam into a nearby pole.
A Cal Fire spokesperson said one motorist suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The crash is being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
