HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – A woman is dead and her husband is critically injured after being hit crossing the street on Sunday, KTLA reports.
The victims were in the crosswalk in the intersection of the Pacific Crest Highway and Newland Street. Around 8 p.m. a northbound Nissan Altima ran a red light and hit both of them.

The 48-year-old woman died at the scene. Her 50-year-old husband was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The 26-year-old female driver fled the scene before abandoning her car a block away and entering another vehicle.
Police identified the driver and arrested her and have charged her with several crimes as a result of this incident.
