SAN DIEGO, CA – Officials with the San Diego Police Department have reported a single fatality resulting from a collision involving a sports car and semi-truck Tuesday afternoon.
According to The Times of San Diego, the collision occurred within the 14900 block of San Dieguito Road at about 12:30 p.m.

Investigators believe the McLaren’s male driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to pass another car.
The initial impact forced the McLaren into oncoming traffic where it was struck by two other vehicles and then caught fire.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was the only person hurt in the crash.
The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
