According to the details shared by the Tucson police, Aaron Knosp was traveling northbound on the Kolb Road when he suffered the accident. A 2003 Acura TL was also traveling northbound on the road, right behind Knosp. Just as Knosp attempted to take a right turn onto the 19th Street, he was hit by the Acura.
The sheer impact of the collision caused the motorcycle to be tossed a long distance. Knosp sustained critical injuries in the crash. By the time the first responders and paramedics arrived on the scene of the crash, he had succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. Knosp was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
As per witness accounts, the Acura was traveling at high speeds, around 80 to 100 miles per hour, when the incident occurred. The driver of the Acura remained on the scene following the incident.
For now, authorities have now brought any formal charges against the Acura driver. However, if it is indeed proved that he was speeding at the time of the crash, he may face charges. Subsequent accident reports will reveal what charges, if any, are brought against him.
