The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to an accident along State Highway 184 on Thursday, February 27. The accident occurred in Sabine County, west of Hemphill.
According to the reports, 68-year-old Nancy Little of Hemphill was driving a 2009 Toyota pickup truck south on Farm-to-Market 1592. She then entered State Highway 184 going east in the westbound lane.

It was in the westbound lane of State Highway 184 that she hit a 2015 Jeep Wrangler head-on. The accident occurred around 3:00 p.m.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as 38-year-old Misty Graffeo of Hemphill. She was driving westbound on State Highway 184 when the accident occurred.
Little was transported from the scene of the accident and rushed to Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was pronounced dead while at the hospital.
Graffeo was also taken to the hospital from the scene of the accident. There was no indication as to just how severe her injuries were from the accident. It was said that she is still undergoing medical treatment for them.
The Texas Department of Public Safety did not release if the women in the accident were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
They have also not released if Little was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the collision. They are still investigating to find out why she entered the westbound lane of State Highway 184.
The road was closed while the accident reconstruction team pieced together the accident. The scene was cleared, and the road was reopened.
