Danville Police were led on a hot pursuit March 5, after spotting a black Lexus that was reported in connection to a theft in San Ramon. Police were notified around 10:36 a.m. to be on the lookout for the vehicle in conjunction with some surrounding thefts.
The vehicle was first spotted at the intersection of Danville Boulevard and El Portal around 10:42 a.m. on Thursday. The driver sped tried to evade the officers by going northbound on Danville Boulevard. The Danville Police pursued the Lexus until it reached Alamo, then they began backing off.

Shortly after backing off, officers came upon a vehicle collision on Danville Boulevard. The vehicle with the theft suspects had hit two other vehicles that were driving on Danville Boulevard. The Lexus came to rest on its top after the accident.
The suspects were removed from the vehicle and detained with assistance from the Contra Costa County Sheriff Office.
The suspects were identified as 36-year-old Michael Gutierrez of Union City and 31-year-old Carolina McDaniel of Hayward.
