Motorcycle accidents are usually fatal for the motorcyclist who has little or no covering for his or her body. Most injuries sustained by the rider occur when the body hits the ground, and those without a helmet are prone to suffer trauma to the head.
Accident reports show that head injuries include concussion, intracranial bleeding, or hemorrhage. Other kinds of injuries include broken bones in the upper and lower bodies and internal organ damage.
Motorcycle crashes are often caused by over speeding and impaired riders. The Nevada Department of Transportation has advised that the best way to avoid fatalities is by maintaining the speed limit, especially at turns, and obeying traffic regulations.
